Prison Reform We, the undersigned, call for comprehensive reform of the American criminal justice and prison systems.

Prison reform does not mean excusing crime, removing accountability, or returning individuals to society unchanged. True reform means building a system that is consistent, transparent, humane, and genuinely effective in reducing future harm. Our Core Demands 1. End corruption and inconsistency in policing, prosecution, and sentencing. Justice must be fair, uniform, and free from abuse of authority.

2. Provide effective rehabilitation, including substance‑abuse treatment and vocational training. Every incarcerated person should have meaningful access to programs that support sobriety, skill development, and personal responsibility.

3. Guarantee full access to religious materials and services. This includes:

Delivery through USPS or any other carrier (FedEx, Amazon, etc.)
Access to stamped return envelopes
Digital religious materials
In‑person clergy visitation for teaching and worship

These rights must be honored without obstruction beyond normal security procedures.

4. Prioritize public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry. Men and women should return to society sober, skilled, accountable, and ready to contribute as productive citizens.

5. Ensure humane living conditions and family stability. All inmates must be treated with respect and provided with:

Adequate nourishment
Minimum living space of 200 sq. ft.
Overnight and weekend family visitation accommodations, with only reasonable restrictions

Strong families support long‑term stability and reduced recidivism.

6. Eliminate all drugs, alcohol, and contraband within facilities. Any employee caught supplying illegal substances must face severe consequences.

7. End unpaid or exploitative prison labor. All incarcerated workers must be paid at least their state’s minimum wage, and compensated appropriately for the skill level required by the job they perform.

8. Improve employee safety, training, and compensation. Reform must include better protection for staff, higher wages to attract qualified personnel, and consistent, ongoing job‑specific training.

9. Provide high‑security confinement for individuals who cannot be rehabilitated or whose crimes or behaviors require more restrictive management.

A broken system helps no one—neither victims, nor communities, nor those who will one day return home. We therefore demand transparency, oversight, and a justice system that corrects harmful behavior rather than reproducing it.
